This weekend PlayStation holds the third annual PlayStation Experience. Think of it as the ultimate online meetup IRL. It’s two days of playing video games and meeting the people who make them for all the PlayStation systems. Here’s our preview of the upcoming show taking over the Anaheim Convention Center.

PSX is about playing games! Unlike the E3 trade show, where somethings are secrets on the level of the CIA Blacklist, 99% of what’s on the PSX floor is playable. With over 100 games, attendees may not be able to fit them all into one weekend so plan accordingly. Here’s the list so far:

Some of the games are already available and simply being given a marketing push by the developers or have new content to show, while others like Resident Evil 7 are playable previews of stuff coming very soon. We can’t wait to get our hands on Star Wars BattleFront X-Wing VR.

This year’s PSX programming line-up consists of a whopping SIX panels. While that may not sound impressive in a world where every convention is out to have more hours of programming than there are in a real week; these six panels are like nothing you can see anywhere else.

Saturday, December 3

12:00pm: Unannounced Panel
1:00pm: Kojima Productions

2:00pm: Unannounced Panel

Sunday, December 4

12:00pm: Kinda Funny: PS I Love You XOXO
Horizon Zero Dawn, GT Sport, and all the latest details coming out of PS Experience — 2017 is looking pretty dang good for PlayStation! Join Greg Miller and Colin Moriarty, plus special guests for a live recording of the internet’s No. 1 PlayStation podcast.

2:00pm: Accessibility: Making Games for All Gamers
Accessibility features help empower all gamers—not just those with disabilities—and we want to set an industry standard of inclusion. We’re bringing together some of the top minds from the accessibility community, PlayStation and Naughty Dog to discuss best practices for game developers and to share powerful stories about the broader impact of accessibility features in games.

The unannounced panels will be revealed during the PlayStation Showcase (Keynote) Saturday 10am. Every year PSX kicks off with a close to 2-hour presentation showing new games as well as dropping figurative bombshells on the fans. Last year, CEO Shawn Layden trolled everyone by wearing a Crash Bandicoot T-shirt. A game mascot everyone wanted a return from but, didn’t actually get the news until E3 months later. Could there be another ominous warning? Maybe a Parappa The Rappa zipper hood? If you aren’t at the show you can watch the keynote online or keep an eye on the Comics Beat Instagram.

Our predictions:

Marvel vs Capcom 4 is real and gets announced

PSVR games come to the PS Plus subscription line up and PS Now

-Kojima announces the first date (to be delayed later) for his game, Death Stranding.

-New bundle for Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Which brings me to PSX’s special guest. The iconic creator of Metal Gear, Hideo Kojima is spending the week in southern California as he’ll be honored with a special presentation during The Game Awards on tonight. Then Saturday, Kojima will be at PSX for the Death Stranding panel (including a very special guest *cough negangavehimweekendleave cough*) and an autograph signing.

No show would be complete without exclusive collectibles to buy. PlaStation Experience will have a full-on pop-up shop; you can read about some of what will be available here. PS, no cash transactions so bring whatever credit card has the biggest limit.

If you’re attending, don’t forget to go on the app store Saturday before the show to download the Experience PlayStation App. It’ll include everything you need to collect rewards synced to your RFID-enabled badge. Tickets are still available at  http://playstation.com/experience-tickets if you want to be part of all the fun. We’ll bring you as much of the sights and hands-on from the show as we can including any news on DC Comics Injustice 2 or the PlayStation exclusive Spider-Man game. Monday, I’ll run down my five favorite games of the show and maybe give something away.
