This Wednesday, Top Cow will release Son of Shaolin, a new graphic novel written by screenplay writer Jay Longino and illustrated by Uber artist Caanan White. The book follows a young boy named Kyrie who works as an aspiring street artist until he discovers his secret heritage as a powerful martial artist being hunted by a “relentless killer.”
As per the solicit text, the book has already been optioned for a film release with Dwayne “The Rock” Jonhson attached to produce.

A kung-fu epic set in the back alleys and subway tunnels of Harlem, New York. Kyrie, an aspiring street artist who is struggling to make ends meet, learns that he is the last living descendant of a secret sect of ancient Shaolin elders. Confused and unsure of where to turn, he finds a father figure in the mysterious Master Fong.
