Did I mention there was a lot of comics to TV news in the wake of NYCC?  Well, here’s another bit.  Peter Panzerfaust, the Image/Shadowline  series that’s essentially Peter Pan vs. Nazis has been picked up by the BBC.

They’re looking at a transmedia (cross-platform) play including a live action TV show as well as a motion comic for digital release.  They’d like to lead with the digital version while they’re developing the live action.

Says the BBC:

Panzerfaust was instantly appealing our team with its unique mixture of real historical elements combined with classic Peter Pan mythology,” commented Dan Tischler, VP, Digital, BBC Worldwide Productions. “This clever take on such an iconic story offers us an opportunity to take a comprehensive cross-platform approach to development, with the motion comic series being the ideal entry point to bring the concept to life.”

It also has some high-level attention, in terms of the producers:

The project will be executive produced by BBC Worldwide Productions’ Senior Vice President of Scripted, Julie Gardner (Da Vinci’s DemonsDoctor WhoTorchwood), BBC Worldwide Productions’ Vice President of Digital, Dan Tischler (Gigi: Almost American; Torchwood: Web of Lies) and Quality Transmedia’s Jeff Krelitz.

OK.  Ed Brubaker, Sixth Gun and Peter Pazerfaust… I’m waiting to see if Marvel or DC have any new TV announcements.  The ball is rolling.
