On his Twitter account, DC’s VP of Online Ron Perazza confirmed that he is leaving DC instead of moving to the West Coast, as had been previously reported. Perazza was a 12-year-vet at DC, following a stint at Marvel, starting out in creative services where he rose rapidly in influence and rank to vp of creative services.

Perazza’s best known public move at DC was starting the Zuda webcomics line, which was controversial but one of the most innovative efforts at DC in recent years, and one which developed a thriving online community.

In DC’s recent organizational changes, Perazza was promoted to VP of Online, reporting to SR VP Hank Kanalz EVP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development, John Rood. Although much of the online team is still planning a move to the West Coast — including editor Kwanza Johnson — Perazza has decided to make the move. And based on his tweets, he is not leaving for a new job.

Perazza has consistently been one of the most forward-looking execs at DC in recent years; it’s hard not to see him moving on to something bigger and better already on the East Coast.
