Al Ewing and Lee Garbett have been announced as the creative team for an interesting new project – Loki, Agent of Asgard. Spoilers for Young Avengers follow in the article below.

Loki, Agent of Asgard will feature the grown-up version of Loki, who has been seen most recently in Young Avengers, albeit hidden in his own teenage body. The current storyline in that series has indicated that some big things are in store for the character – which has been proven to be literal, it appears, as he is going back into his literal bigger body.

The series will follow him as he acts as an espionage agent on behalf of Asgard, essentially, going on missions to bring down their opponents and ensure that Asgard remains ahead of the competition. To this extent, the first storyline will see him break into Avengers Tower, to steal a thing or two.

The creative team of Ewing and Garbett have worked together before at 2000AD, on a Tharg’s Future Shocks. If they’re going to be bringing that same sense of the bizarre and funny to this series, it’s going to be something to really look forward to.
