After all the waiting and speculation, today Sony has announced the official release date for their exclusive PlayStation 4 Spider-Man game. Marvel Spider-Man comes out September 7, 2018.

Also, part of the announcement were pre-order bonuses which include a “spider-punk” outfit for the character in-game (2 more have yet to be revealed) and post-launch downloadable story content. The game’s post-launch DLC will come in the form of a three-part campaign called Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps and includes new villains.

The US and Canada online PlayStation Store will get a Digital Deluxe Edition that comes with the game, a pass for all the DLC, plus a physical pin of Spider-Man from the box art. No word yet on how the physical pin will be fulfilled.

No big fall release would be complete without the tat filled collector’s edition which includes all the pre-order bonuses along with giving fans a statue, DLC pass, mini art book, and special steel game case for an MSRP of $149.

Marvel’s Spider-Man launches for PlayStation 4 on September 7, 2018 and will be an open world game featuring a story co-written by developer Insomniac Games and Marvel’s Dan Slott. So far, characters confirmed for the game are Mister Negative, Kingpin, Miles Morales, and a playable Mary Jane Watson but more will likely be revealed when the game shows at E3 in June.
