The New Yorker has been on a recent run of covers by cartoonists, with Chris Ware and Daniel Clowes doing recent covers. Now Jaime Hernandez has joined the gang with a cover for the annual food issue.

“I put both mustard and ketchup on my hot dogs,” Jaime Hernandez says of his image for the cover of this week’s Food and Travel issue, thus settling a debate that has raged around the office ever since his piece came in. “But the truth is I haven’t had a hot dog since I gave up meat a good fifteen years ago,” he continues. “I found that vegan and vegetarian dogs can be hard to digest.”
