Dark Horse Comics today announced a new collection of Donny Cates, Eliot Rahal, and Geoff Shaw’s The Paybacks. The collection of the superhero parody series, about a team of broke heroes who collect debts owed by superpowered debtors, includes the original four-issue miniseries published by Dark Horse in 2015, as well as the second four-issue series published by Heavy Metal in 2016. The initial miniseries has previously been collected, while the Heavy Metal series has not.
Donny Cates has quickly become one of the hottest writers in the industry, best known for fan-favorite runs on Thanos and Doctor Strange and as the recently-minted writer on Venom. He and Rahal have teamed previously on stories for Dark Horse and Valiant, with Rahal either co-writing or pencilling their collaborations. Geoff Shaw has had work published by Dark Horse, Image, DC, and Marvel, among others.
