Please join us, once again, for a few hours of drinking and schmoozing at Beauty Bar (see attachment):

FRIDAY:
Image003-1We had the Swedes and then the Finns, but now the Romanians are invading MoCCA! And throwing a party!

Join us for a party with Romanian comics and electronic music organized on the occasion of the first Romanian participation to the MoCCA Art Festival, featuring:

Hardcomics and Aooleu: Romanian Cartoons, Comic Art, Animation and much more
Join visual artists Milos Jovanovic and Matei Branea, before their first participation to the MoCCA Art Festival, on a journey through the Romanian comics landscape. Initiators of the first Romanian comics publication and publishing house in 2002, when comics practically didn’t exit in Romania, they have helped and witnessed the boost of an art form.

Live performance: Romanian electronic music with Rezistenţa Materialelor
The celebration of new urban cultures in Romania continues with a live performance by a band that aims at always taking their fans and public by surprise; their live performances combine the electronic music with other classical music instruments (violin, trumpet, horn, trombone, etc) as well as visual art or plastic mannequins. In December 2007, two Romanian students, Lucian Racoviţan (Architecture) and Costin Basica (Music Composition), decided to start an electronic music group bearing the name of an Architecture course program: Rezistenţa Materialelor (The Endurance of Materials). Since then, their music, experimenting and recycling musical themes and ironic events and characters from the social and cultural surroundings, was present in all major clubs and electronic music festivals in Romania.

The event takes place at the ROMANIAN CULTURAL INSTITUTE IN NEW YORK, 200 East 38th Street (at 3rd Avenue).
