MeCAF announces Beaton and Kibuishi

The Maine Comics and Art Festival — which will be held Sunday, May 20th in Portland, ME — has announced its first two guests: Kate Beaton and Kazu Kibuishi. This is a nice show in a nice venue that has a strongly family-oriented vibe in amongst the indies. We’re not aware of too many shows that have so much kid-friendly material front and center and it’s good to hear the show is still going strong with a marquee guest like Beaton.

  1. Jeff P. says:

Rick Lowell seems to top himself every year.

  2. Chris Hero says:

Marquee guest like Beaton? What’s Kabushi, then? Isn’t it nice he’s also a marquee guest? Can’t we be happy both are marquee guests?

Kabushi seems to be constantly overlooked by the comics blog world. Dude’s one of the best in the game right now.

  3. Putting it on the calendar. Amulet is a great series.

  4. Amulet is a really good kids series, still wondering why it’s not the big franchise it could/should be yet.
