Metal on metal! I guess everyone is getting into the comics soundtrack biz now. Brann Dailor, co-vocalist, drummer, and co-founder of Mastodon has released his first ever solo tune, “Red Death,” inspired by DARK DAYS: THE ROAD TO METAL, the metal Batman collection written by Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV and artists Jim Lee, Andy Kubert, and John Romita Jr. You can listen to it here.

Or here:

The track is a moody, grim portrait of the Dark Multiverse Batman/Flash and features guitarist Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 & 2Deadpool), Mike Elizondo (Eminem, Twenty-One Pilots, The Regrettes) Elizondo on bass and Gil Sharone from Dillinger Escape Plan, Puscifer on drums.

Like everyone in the universe, Brann is thrilled to be associated with Batman. “Super stoked to be part of this amazing musical collaboration,” he said in a statement. “Always been a fan of anything Batman related and DC Comics as a whole, so the chance to be connected to that universe is a dream come true.”

Mastodon is currently touring with beloved Beat icons Primus and just released an animated track for their song  “Clandestiny,” directed by Blink MyBrain, which features an evil dictator, a killer robot and a floppy disk. Becuase nothing is more evil than a floppy disk.
