A Maryland man was arrested in Utah after allegedly using comic con and pop culture events as a means to meet teen girls and lure them into sex.
Derrick La Marr Jones, 35, was arrested and charged with illegal use of a communication system to solicit with lascivious intent of a minor between the age of 15 and 18. The law got wise to Jones’ MO when a Virginia family caught their teenaged daughter talking to him on social media.
Jones is said to have made contact with underage girls at comicons, often using the alias Kanovski Zan-Lee Vulgen or “Kano” or “Lee” and police are looking for any other victims he have contacted.
Based on the photos provided of Jones, one would suspect that he attempted to pass himself off as a Zippy the Pinhead cosplayer. So kids, beware.
