Yes DC and Boom! Studios are having a company crossover with two girl-oriented series, Lumberjanes and Gotham Academy. The six issue series debuts in June with writer Chynna Clugston-Flores (Blue Monday) and artist Rosemary Valero-O’Connell (Lumberjanes). It debuts in June. The above cover is by Mingjue Chen. Lumberjanes is about a group of young women of varying backgrounds who join up to fight supernatural forces at a “Camp for Hardcore Lady-Types.” Gotham Academy is about a group of young women of varying backgrounds who attend the boarding school Gotham Academy and fight supernatural menaces. So, yeah, this makes total sense.
Boom! has never had a company crossover before. DC has crossed over with Dynamite recently for Batman ’66 meets the Green Hornet, but this is a lot more unexpected…and cool.
