Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of the hit Broadway musical Hamilton, is teaming up with Canadian cartoonist and illustrator Jonny Sun on a Twitter-inspired illustrated book called Gmorning, Gnight!: Little Pep Talks for Me & You. The book is inspired by his regular morning and evening Twitter ritual of posting a message for his followers every morning and evening. This range from encouragement to practice self-care, a nice lovely message or sometimes a motivational kick in the butt. The book will be illustrated by Canadian Jonny Sun, bestselling author of the graphic novel Everyone’s a Aliebn When Ur a Aliebn Too, another nice and charming quirky story of an alien observing our planet with wonderment.

Random House’s website provides more background on the book itself. Here’s a short excerpt from the book description:

Before he inspired the world with Hamilton and was catapulted to international fame, Lin-Manuel Miranda was inspiring his Twitter followers with words of encouragement at the beginning and end of each day. He wrote these original sayings, aphorisms, and poetry for himself as much as for others. But as Miranda’s audience grew, these messages took on a life on their own. Now, at the request of countless fans, Miranda has gathered the best of his daily greetings into a beautiful collection illustrated by acclaimed artist (and fellow Twitter favorite) Jonny Sun. Full of comfort and motivation, Gmorning, Gnight! is a touchstone for anyone looking for a lift.

The popularity of Lin-Manuel Miranda is sure to bring in a huge audience to this project. Sun is a perfect choice for this project. If you haven’t seen Everyone’s a Aliebn When Ur a Aliebn Too, it’s about a young alien discovering and studying planet Earth and finding life’s weird quirks to be novel and endearing. His graphic novel has been a pure delight and is a wonderful mix of charming, serious and evocative.

Gmorning, Gnight!: Little Pep Talks for Me & You will be published on October 23rd.
