Life Is Strange 2 is indeed coming soon!

2018 is going to be a big year for one of the most surprise hit original intellectual properties in recent memory. Titan announced it would publish a limited series comic based on events from the first game later this year. Life Is Strange creator, Don’t Nod, is in development on the game’s sequel and next week, through publisher Square Enix, is giving away a stand-alone title called The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit. A title which Don’t Nod says links in several possible ways to the upcoming LIS sequel. Today, the game’s social media revealed the actual Life Is Strange 2 will once again be a five-episode series with the first episode coming on September 27, 2018.

The brief tease shows the announcement being sewn across a tattered backpack, but it looks like we won’t see the significance of that image until August, according to tweets from the official Life Is Strange account.

Before that, on June 26, Don’t Nod and Square Enix are releasing The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit. According to the company, it will be a “narrative demo” of story-driven gameplay that links to Life Is Strange 2. They’ve also stressed you do not need to have played either the original Life Is Strange or its Before The Storm prequel to enjoy and understand what’s going in Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit and will be 100% free to own by downloading it from PlayStation Store, Xbox Live, and STEAM PC.

After playing through an early look at Captain Spirit, I can tell you fans of the series are about to open a floodgate of speculation as to what Life Is Strange 2‘s story will be about and I can’t wait to read every theory.
