Today Marvel and WB Games dropped the official first slice of the follow-up to arguably their most popular entry in the entire LEGO licensed game series. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is the direct sequel to 2013’s open world Marvel action platformer game that brought almost the entire roster of major characters together in family friendly gaming fun.

The brief teaser focused on Baby Groot running from an array of blasts in an adorable action sequence. Also prominent was the MCU version of Doctor Strange. Beyond that, no details have been released including confirming the involvement of TT Games director Arthur Parsons who’s been at the helm of most LEGO comic adaptations in video games. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 will release the first full trailer online May 23rd. While the first game centered around the Marvel comic book universe, it looks like the sequel will at least feature certain elements of the MCU. We can only hope that this time around the X-Men don’t get left behind.
