KISS has been an icon in the world of rock for decades, both in and out of their notorious makeup. With the announcement of their final tour, Dynamite and writer Amy Chu (Red Sonja, Poison Ivy) have teamed up to create KISS: The End, a companion miniseries to go along with their farewell to fans. Launching this April, Edu Menna (Twilight Zone, ZNation) is taking on art duties and Troy Peteri (Amazing Spider-Man, Witchblade) will be handling letters.

The story centers on a young man who is struggling with some of life’s biggest questions. He runs into Death who sets him on a path to track down their own demon offspring. Acting as his guides on the quest are The Starchild, The Demon, The Spaceman, and The Catman—otherworldly versions of the band members.

“I’m totally stoked to be back on KISS, especially for the final tour. And to be working with Edu Menna who drew my friend Craig Engler’s ZNation, it’s pretty awesome!” said Chu. “I’ll be incorporating parts of the actual tour and KISS history into the storyline, and expect lots of Easter eggs, just like in the previous Elder run!”

Menna added, “I’ve listened to KISS since my teenage years and their Unplugged album is a favorite. I’ve followed Amy’s work and have had ‘envy’ of artists who partnered with her…finally my turn arrived! I always try to bring something new for each project. In this work I want to use my style combined with the elegance of the European masters. I hope fans enjoy what we’re putting together.”

Fans will also be treated to covers by Stuart Sayger (Vampirella vs. Reanimator), Jorge Fornés (Batman, Magnus), and Denis Medri (Red Hood/Arsenal). There will also be a fourth cover featuring classic KISS photos.

KISS: The End #1 is slated for April 2019. Fans can preorder with their favorite comic shop in February. The series will also be available digitally from Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, and ComicsPlus.
