§ A nice report on Jane IRwin signing at Green Brain.

Jane Irwin, author of “Vögelein: Clockwork Faerie” and “Vögelein: Old Ghosts” just released her newest graphic novel, “Clockwork Game,” which is based on a true story. § More of this, but it’s a good list: Five Comic Creators To Watch in 2014

§ The Guardian and SelfMadeHero are presenting a one day seminar on graphic novels for the second year in a row and it sounds like a fine day:

The event, which will be introduced by comics historian and Comic Art writer Paul Gravett, explores the history of the medium and offers practical advice on writing a graphic novel script, teaming with the right artist and promoting the book. The classes will be led by political cartoonist Martin Rowson (Tristram Shandy, Gulliver’s Travels), The Guardian and New Statesman contributor Karrie Fransman (The House That Groaned) and novelist Toby Litt (Beatniks, King Death, Dead Boy Detectives). Broadcaster and journalist Alex Fitch will chair a panel discussion to round off the day.

§ Apparently, Scotland has a superhero now?

John Ferguson can be quietly proud of what his comic book has already achieved since Scotland’s first superhero burst onto the comic book scene in October last year. The graphic novel has gone on to generate a strong fan base, acquire a whole host of positive reviews, be featured as one of the top five comics of 2013 and in the words of the author (who you can see in the picture below) himself, to be “sold wherever comics are sold.”

§ Kevin Melrose caught a very nice quote from Russ Heath.

§ There was once some nice concept art for a scrapped Red Sonja movie in this link. but it isn’t there any more. I’m sure it’s still up somewhere though.
