Oni Press, Inc., is the premier comic book and graphic novel publisher in Portland, Oregon. We publish creator-owned and licensed comics such as Scott Pilgrim, Letter 44, The Sixth Gun, Hopeless Savages, Rick and Morty, Invader Zim, and many more. Our fast-paced editorial department is seeking an Associate Editor for an immediate full-time position. Applicants must be passionate about indie comic book publishing and possess a working familiarity with the Oni Press library.

Our editorial philosophy is to help creators produce the best version possible of their work, and make sure it arrives to readers in the best manner possible, while maintaining schedule. This position coordinates and edits content for publication, ensuring that all single issues, trade paperbacks, graphic novels, and extra content are ready for publication. It interacts with all departments of the company, as well as creators and licensors. Excellent communication and effective organizational skills are a must. This position reports to the Managing Editor.

DC Comics seeks an Assistant Editor for the Editorial-DC Comics department. Assists Editor in development and maintenance of DC comics, licensed comics, digital comics, custom projects and kids comics. Edits special online titles or books as needed. Job Responsibilities Assists Editor with development and production of DC Comics, licensed comics, digital comics, custom projects, and kids line of comics. Interacts with freelancers and various departments to ensure that the projects are moving through the appropriate departments as scheduled. Works with licensees to ensure story content and quality are consistent and conform to licensee’s and DC’s standards. Provides administrative and clerical support to Group Editor (copying, filing, answering telephones/questions and monitoring deadlines). Performs other related duties as assigned.

Reporting to Disney Book Group’s (DBG) Vice President, the Director, Editorial will play a key role in leading the publishing strategy across multiple imprints and formats. This position is based in Glendale, CA and will work across the organization to drive the connecting points with both the publishing and digital media teams.

• Lead publishing strategy and creative direction across multiple imprints and formats: Disney Press, Marvel Press, and related branded ebooks, as well as collaborate with Director of LucasFilm Press on strategy and direction of LucasFilm Press. Also assist in overseeing Disney Editions and Kingswell.
• Manage editorial leads for each imprint, as well as ebooks and ebook design.
