So far Marvel has teased that a brand new inhuman, Ulysses will be the catalyst to unlocking the conflict behind Civil War II–but through a brand new interview with Blastr, writer Al Ewing (The Ultimates) unveiled a new mystery; is Ulysses of the newly announced Civil War II: Ulysses mini-series “Cool Ranch” or “New Zesty Nacho cheese” flavored?

What I can tell you is that he’s a new member of the Inhumans, who come in two flavors – the Cool Ranch Inhumans, who lived for centuries in a hidden city and gained their powers from some sacred super-mists that they partook of at a young age, and the New Zesty Nacho Cheese Inhumans, or “NuHumans”, who are seemingly-normal humans who secretly have the Inhuman gene and get weird powers out of nowhere after they’re hit with a giant roving cloud of said super-mists, which have been roaming the Earth since someone broke the aforementioned hidden city.

Ulysses is one of the latter ones. He’s just a normal college guy, not the super-hero type, who gets hit with the mists and wakes up with a power that could shake the whole Marvel Universe – the power to predict the future.

That’s one mystery solved, but fans still don’t know the inciting incident leading to the first steps of the war, Marvel gave the reading audience with a keen eye the first look at the power that Ulysses carries in their free comic book day offering, FCBD: Civil War II where (light spoilers ahead) the Inhumans predicted the coming of The Mad Titan Thanos.

Ulysses, now a student of the Inhuman Karnak is getting a chance to take the spotlight right before Civil War II in an upcoming three-issue mini-series, aptly titled Civil War II: Ulysses. The tale is a prologue to the upcoming Civil War II with art from Jefte Paolo (Black Panther: The Man Without Fear) and storyboards drawn by Karl Kesel (Harley Quinn) featuring a gorgeous Francesco Francavilla (Afterlife with Archie) cover. The news broke via Blastr, who explained that the story will reveal the mysterious origin surrounding the new Inhuman.

The story will be an Infinite Comic, Marvel’s answer to digital stories, which are available first on digital applications and websites like Comixology that feature a different format better suited to devices with screens. CBR had the solicit and revealed that the story kicks off with full new zesty nacho cheese flavor in June, but Blastr revealed that story will debut in cool ranch print via August.
