IDW has hired a new marketing and PR person, namely John Schork, who has joined the company as Associate Manager, Marketing and Public Relations. The position opened up when AnnaMaria White left to start her own PR company. Schork was formerly an assistant editor at Dark Horse. In his new position he’ll work with IDW’s Director of Marketing Dirk Wood and Marketing Coordinator Chloe Zuanich on industry outreach and social media.
“I’ve known John for a couple of years now, and have always been impressed with his attitude, work ethic, and excitement for comics,” said Wood in a statement, “When the need came for someone new on our team, I thought of him immediately.”
“I’d been very impressed with a lot of the moves IDW had been making and the opportunity to join the team and get involved was an incredibly strong one,” said Schork, “and taking on an expanded role in an industry I love was also something that appealed to me a great deal; but, at the end of the day, I just like being on the same team as The Rocketeer.”
At DH, Schork worked on such titles as DARK HORSE PRESENTS. He is a 2009 graduate of Washington State University with a degree in Humanities, Fine Arts and English.
