This past Friday during the Injustice 2 eSports championship series on cable, WB Games released a trailer showing off the third wave of incoming downloadable content for the Injustice 2 fighting game. Having already seen special guest characters such as Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat and even Mike Mignola’s Hellboy, you had to wonder what one character could possibly top that surprise? Well… we got a 4-character surprise in the form of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. After a crossover series with Batman in comics, the Turtles are coming to the biggest DC Comics fighting game. Check out this sweet City at War feeling trailer.

Coming along with Ryan Choi’s dawning of The Atom suit and The Enchantress are Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael. A big studio backed game isn’t so generous that it would give you double the number of playable fighters as a download compared to previous waves. What’s most likely is the Turtles are one playable fighter where you get to switch off mid-battle using the unique ability mapped button. When you consider the characters themselves, it makes sense to use them as a sort of fighting unit.

The characters are included for those who purchased the ultimate version of the game starting in December and available around the same time as a separate 3-pack purchase should you have foolishly bought the “standard” edition of the game.

Injustice 2 is currently available for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and coming to the PC this week.
