This would be the prequel to the first two games in the Arkham series, then. Featuring a younger, less experienced Caped Crusader than before, the story will see a parade of villains descend upon Gotham in order to try and take out Batman, apparently as part of some scheme planned by Black Mask. The trailer below doesn’t offer any gameplay whatsoever, instead offering a short film setting up one of the more anticipated parts of the game – a fight between Batman and Deathstroke.

There’s also a little news regarding the voice cast for the game —

Kevin Conroy, who voiced Batman in the previous two games, is involved in this game – but possibly not as Batman. It’s unsure what his role will be, entirely, as Roger Craig Smith has been confirmed to be voicing Batman in the story. Perhaps he’s going to appear in a framing sequence, or maybe he’ll be involved in a totally different manner. Meanwhile, it’s been confirmed that Mark Hamill will not be returning to play Joker, who will instead be voiced by Troy Baker.

Arkham Origins is out in October. We’ll be keeping an eye on it.
