DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
(Part-Time, 25 – 30 hours a week)

The Development Manager works with CBLDF staff in the development and implementation of CBLDF’s fundraising program. They report to the Deputy Director with a focus on procurement and marketing of CBLDF fundraising premiums, including but not limited to maintaining the online donation center, crowd-funding campaigns, and convention booths. The Development Manager also develops marketing strategy, copy, and visual assets, for use on CBLDF’s social media platforms, working with the Editorial Director to maximize visibility and market penetration. This position requires availability for after-hours events, and weekend travel throughout the year.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Planning, marketing, and executing donation center updates and promotions, using the Shopify platform.
Develops visual communications, including print and online ads, promotional materials, and social media posts.
Procurement of fundraising premiums.
Assistance in assembly and fulfillment of premiums.
Monitoring Diamond Previews and independent catalogs and publishing schedules for upcoming opportunities in fundraising, utilizing our publishing and creative partners.
Coordinate with Auction Manager
Generating promotional copy for fundraising initiatives for deployment on CBLDF.org and social media avenues.
Assisting with donor relations, merchandising, and promotions onsite at multiple conventions and events.
Assisting in preparing and managing exhibit space onsite at conventions and exhibits.
Managing, developing, and promoting offsite member events and fundraisers.
Planning, marketing, and executing occasional crowd-funding campaigns
Recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers and interns for office and off-site tasks.
Managing logistics, staff preparation, material handling, vendor services, and shipping for off-site events and conventions.
Requirements:

Ability to work nights and/or weekends as required
Weekend travel as required
Fluency with major social media sites
Familiarity with Shopify or similar shopping cart applications
Extensive product knowledge of comics & graphic novels
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Familiarity with Excel and Quickbooks
Experience with recruitment, supervision and training of interns and volunteers.
Fluency with eBay preferred but not required

OFFICE MANAGER
(Part-Time, Hourly, 20 hours a week.)

Works with the Executive and Deputy Directors in the further development of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, with an emphasis on managing the day-to-day financial and practical operations of the organization.

The Office Manager’s responsibilities include:

Day-to-day financial entry for the organization, including but not limited to: entry of all income and processing of appropriate receipts; bank deposits; bill entry and payment.
Responsible for processing all invoices, payables, receivables, expenses, and general reporting.
Supervision of document retention; and preparation of materials for bookkeeper, treasurer and accountants.
Assistance in workplace compliance, including preparation for insurance, utilities, and supply vendors, with the oversight of the Deputy Director.
Assistance in shipping and processing premiums and donor acknowledgments. This includes oversight of physical inventories of fundraising premiums.
Management of bulk mailings, mailing lists, and membership data.
Qualifications

Practical Quickbooks training and experience.
Experience in human resources and insurance compliance useful.
Education, training, and experience with bookkeeping sufficient to fulfill job description.
Additional qualifications:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
Strong financial, analytical and organizational skills.
Experience with inventory management.
Ability to work under pressure and balance numerous priorities simultaneously.
Experience with project/organizational management and strategic planning.
