The new season of Game of Thrones, which premieres on April 24th on HBO, has all sorts of question marks surrounding it, not the least of which being, just how will showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss tackle the material with no currently published book to adapt?
Obviously, the pair have seen manuscripts and drafts and know where this whole saga is going to end up, so things should really be fairly tidy on that end; but for the first time, book-readers won’t (presumably) be able to lord over their knowledge of George RR Martin’s series as its events unfold on screen. It should make for exciting times at the Pinion-Lodge household during our weekly screening get-togethers!
Here’s the new trailer for the upcoming season, with a Chris Isaak cover to boot!
