Gender swap Avengers poster gives us lots of butt

We’re not sure if this Russian Avengers teaser was ever found to be “official” or not, but it doesn’t matter, because artist Kevin Bolk has given it a gender swap, with the male characters showing the kind of twisting butt-and-face pose that is usually reserved for The Black Widow. It’s called Avengers Booty Ass-emble :

I couldn’t help but notice that in most of the ad material, the guys are all in heroic stances but Black Widow is almost always in an impractical, curved-spine “booty shot” pose. Figured I’d flip it around for my lady friends out there. Seemed only fair. Them’s some strong male characters, amirite?

It’s great to see the Avengers portrayed as strong male characters, all right.

In fairness, some of the character posters have had the Black Widow more active.
This promo art from the Licensing show has a different focus.

And this composite has a lot of poses.

But we all saw those nude photos — or just LOST IN TRANSLATION — ScarJo should be proud of her butt. But it’s time for Jeremy Renner to be proud of his butt, too!

  1. Semantics says

This really isn’t a “gender swapped” image/poster. It’s more of a pose swap.

  2. Pantsless Pete says

    The Hulk one is…

It’s either the Hulk trying to show me the boil on his ass or him wanting me to have sex with him.

Either way, I find it problematic.

  3. Saber Tooth Tiger Mike says

And the point of the whole thing is…?

There is a market for fan service for women but is but it’s very small compared to the market for men, since most women can easily obtain the real thing.

  4. Xenos says

Hulk is a wedding ring and a stretch away from pulling a gamma goatse. (If you don’t know what that is, you haven’t been on the internet long enough.. or have blocked it from your memory. )

Though, really, I don’t see Scar Jo’s sexy pose that degrading.. or… at all. The guys are looking good in their poses. Cap and Hawkeye are showing off their pecs and somewhat their packages. It’s no more overly sexualized than that.

And really, Hemsworth was flashing his abs and.. whatever those pelvic muscles are over in Thor. All my female friends and some gay male ones were all hot and bothered by it. Hell, even I gotta give props to that beefcake scene.. and feel rather inadequate thanks to it. Heck, the movie had Kat Dennings and Natalie Portman in it and no cheesecake from them at all. Hell, 2 Broke Girls has Dennings showing off more than that movie did.

  5. The Beat says

Xenos. all true re Thor. And that negates decades and centuries of objectifying women exactly how?

  6. Goosechecka says

This comparison exemplifies what I’ve been trying to convince my male gamer friends of for a very long time. Thank you!

“And the point of the whole thing is…?

Saber Tooth Tiger Mike, I keep facepalming at your comment.

For one, the parody poster doesn’t really show fan service for women … it shows the over-sexifying of men, which is not definitively female fan service. What you call male fan service ends up just looking stupid.

Also, most women can easily get WHAT, exactly? Men who can stick their butts out while twisting their hips? Butts in general? Explain this to me, please.

  8. Alex says

The point? Really, Saber Tooth Tiger Mike?

The point is to show you just how ridiculous it is to pose any character the way they have chosen to pose Black Widow… It’s bad for your back to stand like that at the very least.
