Fried Pie Con 2 is a day of comics and cartoonists and will be held April 15th in Broomfield, CO. It’s organized by the publisher that specializes in variant covers for 2nd & Charles and Book-a-Million outlets, among other.
Some great guests have already been announced for the free event, but now three more are coming: Ivan Brandon, Greg Hinkle and Dan Conner. They join previously announced guests Hope Larson, Brenden Fletcher, Ian McGinty, Cara McGee and Emmett Helen.
Brandon and Hinkle will be their to promote the new IMage title Black Cloud (co-written by Jason LaTour) debuting in April.
Zelda was born in a world of dreams, and hers burned bigger than anyone had ever seen. Now she’s on the run in our world, the dreams broken in her hands. But the pieces are for sale, the rich and the powerful are buying, and suddenly her world isn’t the only place Zelda’s running from. Dreams do come true—and today, they go to war.
The book has already gotten some strong reviews:
“Ambitious as hell—and lovely to look at, too. Hinkle and Wilson make magic together. If you’re a fan of Image’s CASANOVA, this is a must-buy!” —Kelly Sue DeConnick (BITCH PLANET, PRETTY DEADLY)
“Making your dreams real is never easy, but with splashy art and spiky writing, BLACK CLOUD reminds us of the beauty and power of imagination in dark times.” —Cliff Chiang (PAPER GIRLS, Wonder Woman)
“Brandon, Latour, Hinkle, Wilson, and the human underpinnings of story. A dream book, in every way.” —Kieron Gillen (THE WICKED + THE DIVINE, Darth Vader)
“BLACK CLOUD grabs you by the hair and plunges you down into a world that’s as fascinating as it is gorgeous. I love it, but mostly I just want to steal it.” —Dennis Hopeless (Spider-Woman, WWE)
