Per Exhibitor Relations, Silver and Black, previously scheduled for February 2019, is now listed as undated. The film was intended to star Silver Sable and Black Cat had a script from Captain Marvel writer Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Chaos Walking scribe Lindsey Beer with Gina Prince-Bythewood attached to direct. Very disappointing that a superhero movie not only starring female heroes but also developed by women filmmakers no longer seems like a safe bet. But with Sony rushing so many Spider-Man spinoffs to market, it’s not a big surprise if one or more of them don’t pan out.
Not surprised, honestly. I was always confused at the idea of these two working as a duo. They’re completely different characters who as far as I’m aware have never worked together. It was all very odd.
At least 50 movies are always “in development” for every one that is actually made.
Surprising no one. It just would have no marketability to the general public.
Oh, no! A movie no one asked for and no one wanted won’t be made!
