Earlier this month, we reported that BOOM! Studios will be publishing PLATE TECTONICS, the English version of Margaux Motin’s popular webcomics turned graphic novels La tectoniques des plaques. Margaux Motin’s style is distinctive, so is her sense of humour and her struggle to negotiate motherhood while still trying to lead a fulfilling life is immediately relatable.

Due in June 2019, the book follows post-divorce Margaux’s life at 35 as she negotiates single motherhood and work while still trying to ease back into the dating world. But is a romance with her best friend a great idea…or a disaster waiting to happen?

BOOM! Studios has kindly provided The Beat with an exclusive preview of the upcoming English edition of the original graphic novel PLATE TECTONICS coming out in May 2019. It will be published under BOOM! Studios’ Archaia imprint, which has been bringing some incredible international comics in English such as About Betty’s Boob by Vero Cazot and Julie Rocheleau, Bolivar by Sean Rubin and Waves by Ingrid Chabbert and Carole Maurel in May 2019.

BOOM! Studios Executive Editor had this to say about  PLATE TECTONICS : Margaux’s unapologetic portrayal of herself as a single parent suddenly set adrift in the modern world is at once charming, hilarious, and brutally honest. PLATE TECTONICS is Margaux’s love letter to relearning the lines of who you are and how those lines get redrawn after life-shaking events but inevitably for the better.

To keep you waiting for the release, you can see more of Motin’s appealing work on her very popular Instagram account.

Without further ado, see below for a 10-page preview of  PLATE TECTONICS
