shcow2-1-cvr-sol Earlier today it was announced that Dark Horse is bringing back Geoff Darrow’s Shaolin Cowboy in a four issue mini series, The Shaolin Cowboy: Who’ll Stop the Reign? continues the epic saga of one man’s onslaught. Darrow will write and draw as usual and Dave Stewart will provide colors.

The series originally launched as part of the Burlyman line, published by the Wachowskis, and has been reprinted by Dark Horse over the years. Drawn in Darrow’s signature meticulous style, it’s the often wordless story of one man against a post apocalyptic zombie army. In the new series, The Shaolin Cowboy finds “that his road to hell is paved not with good intentions but old nemeses hell bent on bloody revenge.”

“For a press release about a comic known for not having much dialogue, this press release sure has a lot of words in it,” said the three time Eisner Award winning Darrow in a statement.

The first issue will have a cover by Darrow and a variant by Frank Miller, Darrow’s collaborator on Hard Boiled, shown exclusively below.

In addition to his comics work, Darrow is also a concept artist who worked on The Matrix movies, Speed Racer and other Wachowski films, hence Burlyman’s involvement in the series.
