Just a few days ago, it was announced that Donald and Stephen Glover, who had signed aboard with FX to develop a Deadpool animated series, would not be moving forward with the project.

Announced back in May, the 10-episode initial season, slated for FXX, would have been the second collaboration between the network and the Glovers, the first of which is currently culminating in the second season of the critical hit Atlanta.

But then, the same old chestnut that always rears its head on projects of this nature, once again came to bear as the studio released the following statement:

Due to creative differences, FX, Donald Glover, Stephen Glover and Marvel Television have agreed to part ways on Marvel’s Deadpool animated series. FX and Marvel have an ongoing relationship through our partnership on ‘Legion,’ which will continue.

Variety then went on to speculate that perhaps Glover, between his Atlanta duties, work on Solo, the upcoming Lion King live-action film and his music career, simply found himself with no time to work on Deadpool.

Not true, says Glover, who this morning, not only tweeted a response…but also a (fake and pretty biting) script for the first episode that he had time to craft up:

(Oh, by the way, before I lose you – let me just use this opportunity to talk about how incredible Atlanta is and what a brilliant pair of writers both Glovers are. This project, if it ever moves forward again, is much poorer without them. Do watch Atlanta if you haven’t before. One of the best series on television.)
