Cullen Bunn is returning to Deadpool with another mini-series in five-parts long called Deadpool and the Mercs for Money. Deadpool’s new status quo was revealed in the first issue of the brand new solo series starring the hero, Wade Wilson has a new supporting cast of heroes sporting his signature outfit. This new comic is drawn by artist Salva Espin (Deadpool vs. Carnage) complete with a cover from Declan Shalvey (Moon Knight.) In an interview with Bunn IGN announced the story and confirmed that Deadpool’s new mercenary friends will be included.
“In Deadpool, we’ve learned that Wade has recruited a bunch of mercenaries to work for him. In this series, we see that team working together on a pretty wild mission, one that puts them in the crosshairs of dozens of the Marvel Universe’s deadliest assassins, cutthroats, and murderers–both established and new characters who will stop at nothing to kill Deadpool and his crew. The Mercs For Money have found what might be the most valuable artifact in the universe, and everybody wants it–from crime lords to alien menaces to demonic entities.”
Bunn first started writing the adventures of the Merc with a mouth in the main Deadpool series before going on to script several more mini-series including Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, Night of the Living Deadpool, and Deadpool vs. Carnage with Espin. More recently, Marvel published Deadpool’s Secret Secret Wars.
