Just ahead of next week’s big Rebirth event, DC has announced that the publisher has signed Steve Orlando, Evan “Doc” Shaner, and Jesus Merino to exclusives.

Orlando is currently the writer of Midnighter, which is, for my money, one of the two best books of the DCYou launch (along with Tom King’s Omega Men, who was also signed to an exclusive a few weeks back). Orlando also recently penned the Shazam-based one-shot of the Darkseid War event, and the Image OGN Virgil.

Shaner’s gorgeous line-work can be seen in books like Dynamite’s Flash Gordon and last year’s Convergence: Shazam – I’m sensing a trend here. He will again be teaming up with regular collaborator Jeff Parker for the upcoming Future Quest series.

Merino has been currently illustrating The Flash and also launched the current Superman volume with George Perez at the outset of the New 52.

This makes for six creators (along with King, Clay Mann, and John Timms) that have all been locked down for the upcoming relaunch. Who might be next?
