Interpublisher crossovers have a long history in comics with epic battles such as the Justice League/Avengers crossover but now a long awaited fantasy match up comes to the DC Comics fighting game, Injustice 2. Mike Mignola’s Hellboy will be a fully playable downloadable character as part of the newly announced  Injustice 2 Fighter Pack #2.

Also coming to the game are Aquaman’s nemesis Black Manta and Mortal Kombat’s elder god Raiden. Those who didn’t purchase the ultimate edition of Injustice 2 can purchase Fighter Pack #2 for $19.99 on September 12 which will also be the first day you can download a new character from the pack.

We’ll see gameplay from Dark Horse Comics most iconic character soon. The potential matchups of Hellboy vs. Superman or Hellboy vs. Batman have us eagerly awaiting September. It’s as out of left field a move as the recent announcement of a Joker origin movie, most were expecting Todd McFarlane’s Spawn to be the guest character for Injustice 2. Just as with the previous downloadable characters, Hellboy will have his own unique dialogue and ending. We can’t wait to see how he’ll interact on screen with the dark knight.

Injustice 2 is available now for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
