Comixology has been very busy at SXSW Interactive, giving away a ton of free graphic novels and gift cards to Amazon. They’ve just announced a new promotion making the top 100 books from the Submit program available for only $10, to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the program.

Submit is the “DIY” portal for Comixology, with creators “submitting” their books for digitization and Guided-viewing—creators own all the work and split revenues with Comixology. According to figures released by ComiXology, it’s also been a monetary success for the digital provider in its first year:

• #3 in overall content released for the past year
• #6 in all downloads released for the past year
• #10 in gross revenue among all releases for past year
• 1007 submission available for sale
• 47,347 in pages released
• 26 countries represented
• 6 out of 7 continents represented; including Africa, Europe, Asia, North America, South America, & Australia except Antarctica.

The promotion runs until 11 pm EDT on Monday, March 10th (and in local evening hours elsewhere.) Right now you can download a “Submit starter pack” for $10 which gives you 100 books. A quick look reveals some good stuff like Douglas Rushkoff’s Testament, Matthew Petz’ underrated War of the Woods, The Bunker by Joshua Hale Fialkov and Joe Infurnari, and much more.

I’ll be downloading this right away. The three books above are easily worth $10 and there’s a ton more to discover.

  1. Honestly, that’s a ridiculously good value. Like, anybody reading this should waste no time in downloading it.

  2. I just paid for a download (and it’s Monday so the offer is still valid as of this posting). It’s still only ten bucks for a boatload of indy comics. You can’t go wrong.
