Comics by comiXology, the leading digital comics platform for iOS, Android and the Web has been downloaded over 1 million times since it was launched on Google Android Market six months ago. As one of the featured apps for Google In-app Payments, Comics by comiXology enables comic enthusiasts to read and enjoy thousands of their favorite comics seamlessly on multiple platforms.

“One million downloads is a great start for our Android application, and we believe it’s a strong validation of the marketplace,” said David Steinberger, CEO of comiXology. “We look forward to extending our leadership in digital comics and will continue working on providing our customers the best comic book reading experience possible.”

A free downloadable app, Comics by comiXology for Android features more than 6,000 comics by DC Comics, Image, Archie and many more!

  1. I downloaded it previously on my PC and now have it on my android but I guess I was too cute on my password when downloading it before and I can’t remember the password. I also can’t seem to find how to get them to e-mail it to me, which has been frustrating.

Cue image of old fogey struggling with new technology right . . . now! :-D

  2. Wow- impressive. Congrats to David, John and the gang. And in “real life” a commuter on the train was reading comics on his iPad last night. Nice to see.

  3. 1 million of downloads but I wanna know how and what is selling trough this. I downloaded it on my android tablet but never bought anything…

  4. Yeah, I would love to see sales figures for these apps. But I’d really like to see comics go digital the same day and date as the print versions come out. Then we’ll see if digital can really sell.
