Inside Mobile Apps has its top app charts for the year and comiXology ended up as the third highest-grossing app of the year on the iPad.

Brigid Alverson notes that last year comiXology was #11 #10 on the charts, but the Marvel and DC apps also charted in the top 20, so the Comics app became more dominant. Either way, it’s still highly notable and more of an indication why comics/tablet apps will continue to be the big story in 2013.
