Today, Chris D’Lando officially announced that as of yesterday, he was no longer working at Marvel as a Sales & Communication Administrator. Those of us in comics press will know Chris as one half of the front-end team that sent many a deluge of PR emails to us promoting new Marvel titles and coordinating exclusive content such as previews and interviews.
D’Lando was one half of the Marvel PR team, along with his supervisor Joseph Taraborrelli, aka “Joe Tabs.” Compared to DC’s pr team which has four or five staffers and a battalion of PR folks from BHI (all of them awesome, btw), and you see why D’Lando was often dubbed “The Hardest Working Man In Comicsbiz.”
D’Lando made his announcement via Twitter:
As some of you may have noticed, I’m no longer with Marvel as of 5/1. I have valued my time there immensely, and am so grateful for (1/5)

The opportunity I was given, but I needed to make a change. I’ve had the chance to work with some of the best creators in the business (2/5)

Some of the hardest working behind-the-scenes people as well as great folks outside the company – all of whom I look upon fondly. (3/5)

I’m now ready to move on to the next great opportunity and possibly try some new things (so keep me in mind!), both within comics (4/5)

And beyond. I’ll always be a Marvel kid at heart and oh what a ride it has been. Don’t be strangers. (5/5).
