Bill Sienkiewicz has a pair of new exclusive variants on the way, the first of which features one of the most terrifying new villains in all of comics while the other features Carnage.

The covers are both Midtown Comics exclusives, and they’re available for pre-order now. One is for Web of Venom: Carnage Born #1, due out Nov. 21 from writer Donny Cates and interior artist Danilo Beyruth, and the other is for The Batman Who Laughs #1, due Dec. 12 from writer Scott Snyder and artist Jock.

For the uninitiated, The Batman Who Laughs is an amalgam of Joker and Batman, a villain who has bubbled up in recent DC comics from an Earth in the dark multiverse (because, comics). Carnage is, of course, the red and crazy version of Venom, lacking the misguided moral code that often guides that character. He also had a SNES/Sega Genesis game back in the ’90s called Maximum Carnage, which I remember because the cartridge was red. But I digress…

Both of these new Sienkiewicz covers are pretty impressive, featuring the artist’s trademark abstract and expressionist style applied to the fearsome visages of these villains. Sienkiewicz collectors, take note. Check out both covers below:

Web of Venom: Carnage Born #1, due on November 21, brings this red monster to life for an exclusive cover which captures the hellishly infernal vibe that Carnage brings in bright fiery colors and a twisted grin.

The Batman Who Laughs, due on December 15, is the union of Batman and The Joker from Scott Snyder’s Dark Knights: Metal: A “Jokerized” Batman who has all the memories, knowledge, and skill of the Dark Knight!  Mr. Sienkiewicz’s Midtown exclusive cover captures the sadistic look of The Batman Who Laughs in exciting pop-art color schemes depicting the wild, unhinged feel of this new villain.

Both books promise to have unique shelf presence and are must-haves for Bill Sienkiewicz fans and collectors of classic comics.
