Dark Horse Publisher Mike Richardson is coming right for you…on the side of a bus

It’s true! As Instagrammed by Portland resident and Boilerplate co-author Anina Bennett, Dark Horse’s founder and owner Mike Richardson is part of an ad campaign for New Relic, a software development company that counts Dark Horse as a client.

Smart choice, as it allow great use of the Hellboy imagery as well.

Dark Horse joins Sequential app for digital comics

Well, this is interesting. Although Dark Horse sells its periodical comics exclusively through its own app, and has never been available on Comixology, they’ve just signed a deal with Sequential, the stand alone graphic novel app—making it the first the first third-party digital comics app to distribute Dark Horse. UPDATE: Todd Allen has reminded me that Dark Horse GNs were available for a while on Comixology a few years ago but aren’t any more.

Preview: Rat God #1 by Richard Corben brings the backwoods horror

This preview of the new Richard Corben book from Dark Horse came in my email yesterday to promote the FOC of the book—the last day that retailers can adjust orders. So I missed posting it when it would do any good (I was in meetings and on deadline yesterday). But perhaps consumers will be interested as well! Corben is a powerhouse of the first wave of self-publishing and “ground level” publishing in the 80s, and he’s still rocking out with the art.
