The horror line from Archie Comics has grown quite a bit over the past couple of years with titles like Jughead: The Hunger and Vampironica, and this week they’re adding another series to the mix.  The publisher has provided a preview of the debut issue for Blossoms 666, a new series written by Cullen Bunn, with art by Laura Braga, Matt Herms, and Jack Morelli.  Blossoms 666 reimagines the redheaded Blossom twins as rivals for the title of the Anti-Christ. Here’s how Archie Comics describes the series’s first issue:

Cheryl and Jason Blossom are a pair of seemingly normal kids in Riverdale. They’re wealthy, popular and likeable—but they also harbor a deep, dark secret—one of the Blossom Twins is the Anti-Christ. Both want the title, and no one in Riverdale is safe.

The Blossoms have arguably never had a higher profile within the Archie universe than they do right now; the murder of Jason Blossom was the central mystery of the first season of the Riverdale TV series, and Madelaine Petsch’s turn as HBIC Cheryl Blossom on the series has been a standout performance.
