Bloodshot Salvation #7 has a bit of a gimmick. The story is “told entirely in pitch-black darkness.” If you’re thinking about that old Byrne issue of Alpha Flight with the snow storm, it’s not precisely like that. Scroll down and have a look at the preview pages, the effect is more claustrophobic than you might expect.
The story has Bloodshot blinded while in the Deadside (the land of the dead from Shadowman) trying to save his infant daughter and Lemire is, essentially, going for the point of view of a blind man. As I was saying, scroll down and you’ll see what I’m talking about. (Pun not intended for a change.)

Hmm. Back when Byrne pulled this in “Alpha Flight” (and yes, it’s essentially the same thing), comics were 60/75 cents each. Valiant comics are $4 a pop. To short us on art for the whole issue, while an interesting experiment, is honestly ripping us off. If they really want to impress me that they are doing this for artistic, innovative reasons, then they should drop the price to $2 for this issue, since we’re basically getting half (some would argue even more than half) of the experience.
