Am I the only person who is beginning to feel a little sorry for ScarJo’s Black Widow, who, based on the majority of the materials we’ve seen, must sally forth into battle with the “Skrulls” armed only with a devastating pout and a crippling brokeback? Her little popgun in the Super Bowl trailer was nearly pitiful. Not that Hawkeye’s Marx bow-and-arrow set is much more impressive but at least he looks like he could take a punch. Johansson does not radiate “lethal superspy.” She is cute, though.

To answer your question, most likely yes.
Well Hawkeye gets only arrow and bow. Anyway look at the bowl spot carefully and notice that her bracelets (Widow’s Bite) glow blue momentarily. Since Hawkeye and BW are not in the same weight class as the others their roles might be closer to their Ultimate counterparts. Funny how no one cares about disparities in power and strength among teams in comics but for the movies people feel “sorry”.
Dude, Whedon’s writing it, the women will be well presented, count on it.

I agree on Caps new outfit. All of the photos and the trailers it looks awful. I loved the Cap movie look so much better. No need to have changed it.
I have very high hopes for the movie. It seems weird that the trailer is so vague about what kind of threat the team will be facing. And yes, Cap looks goofy.
I wouldn’t sweat it. The only crap part is the mask, and this is a superhero movie. That mask’ll be off faster than Steve McNiven needs a fill-in.

I love ScarJo (so, so much), but the Black Widow doesn’t make sense in the Avengers. The Wasp should have been the sexy lady. There has to be one, right? Coulda been her. At least she has powers. Black Widow makes sense in Daredevil and Moon Knight and Silver Sable stories. Not among Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
And Hawkeye may only have a bow, but he can put bombs on his arrows. And — like – nets and stuff.
