Marvel has just announced another Inhumans title with Charles Soule (She-Hulk) and James Asmus (Quantum and Woody) on writing duties. The new series known as All-New Inhumans features interiors from Stefano Caselli (Secret Warriors) and will be lead by the royal family member Crystal, sister of Queen Medusa. The roster features an additional supporting team of cast members including Gorgon, Flint, Naja and Grid. This team is hunting the mysterious “Skyspears” that are said to increase the power of the Inhumans — the spears are going to be part of the larger Inhumans tapestry according to Marvel.com who announced the news.
“For the most part, UNCANNY INHUMANS focuses on the more epic conflicts of the Inhuman Royal Family, while our book focuses on the sudden explosion of NuHumans,” said Asmus to Marvel.com. “Our stories, at first, will be a little smaller in scope, with deeply personal consequences for the characters. But we’re building up a cast and a portrait of the new Inhuman world that will soon have to go toe-to-toe with Marvel’s big boys in a very high-stakes way.”
Also teased is the fact that a new event could be added to Marvel’s publishing slate seeded by these two titles:
“The Inhuman corner of the Marvel Universe is a pretty cool place, especially once you bring in books like MS. MARVEL and KARNAK,” says Soule. “They’re all part of a larger picture, and they’re all connected in large and small ways. Similarly, the Inhumans are part of the huge tapestry that is the Marvel Universe, and we’ll see all the threads getting woven together as we move into 2016. I know there are some really cool stories coming up with respect to the X-Men, for one thing…”
The comic book will be available for purchase digitally and in-store via December. This marks an additional ongoing series set in the Inhumans landscape for Soule, who is currently working on Uncanny Inhumans — the sister title includes the rest of the royal family and some Marvel mainstays including The Beast and The Human Torch.
