As a hushed world waited with bated breath, the waiting is over: Pantone has announced their Color of the Year. And it’s Emerald, aka Pantone 17-5641 TCX. Reviewers hailed the move, saying “”Lively. Radiant. Lush… A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.”
While perhaps more suited to the jewel tones of Fall than the new Spring season, rest assured, the Beat will have many green items to spark the 2013 wardrobe.
It’s also, you should note, a color very suitable for both Green Lantern and Green Arrow. Might we suggest a tie in and reissue of Emerald Dawn might be prudent?
In case you’re wondering, this quick look at past colors of the year reveals that this year’s hue is a bit close to the 2010 blockbuster Turquoise.
But close doesn’t count in horseshoes or nail polish.
For you color junkies, we might suggest poking around on Pantone’s Canvas page, where you can sort images by color.
