From the moment it was announced we’ve kept a close eye on Ace Comic Con, the new model of comic-con founded by Stephen and Gareb Shamus as a different kind of experience for fans. The first two event were held on Long Island and in Phoenix, with some scheduling hiccups along the way. Hopefully some lessons were learned.
The third Ace Comic Con has just been announced for Seattle on June 22-24. Headline guests include two Chrises – Hemsworth and Evans – and Tom Hiddleston. Some interest for Avengers fan, there.
The show will be held at the WaMu Theater & CenturyLink Event Center, which is part of the Century LInk sports complex (home of the Seahawks) but the Theater is not a sports venue. Previous Ace Comic Cons were held in sports arenas, for an experience that had varied reactions.
The Century Link Event center is 200,000 sq.ft facility that hold many trade and consumer events. Rent starts at $14,000 in case you were wondering and the theater starts at $16,000 per the website. So it is not cheap to put on an event of this size!
The Sales and Marketing Department at CenturyLink Field Event Center are happy to work one-on-one with you to plan the perfect event for your guests. Please help us out by filling out a request for information form with as much detail as possible. You will receive a prompt reply in the next 48 hours, but please feel free to email or call us, as well.
Ace Comic Con’s center on photo and autograph ops with superstar talent. This focus can lead to prblems – in Long Island a snowstorm upended travel schedules and in Phoenix Chris Evans got sick and wiped out a whole day of photos. Evidently the model can still work, however, with exhibitors and creators as a “setting” for the top nerdlebrities.
According to PR, the event will include “50+ top creators, 100+ curated exhibitors, and 30+ hours of the best panel programming in the comic book genre with an incredible, immersive event!”
VIP Packages, Photo Ops, Autographs, and General Admission Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, 3/29 at 10am Pacific Time. Previous VIPs at other Ace events will have access to an exclusive pre-sale, starting tomorrow (Wednesday, March 28th at 10am Pacific Time). Those receive an email with a link at 10am tomorrow.
Seattle is a huuuuuuuge nerd market, as the amazing Emerald City Con held a few weeks back showed. Other cons have generally stayed away from the city for some reason, but Ace is coming in to what should be an audience eager for nerdlebrities.
