Rising above the roiling tides of history, the 2018 Ignatz nominations are out, and they are, as always, a very deserving list of creators and titles some known, some exciting newcomers. It’s all worth exploring. The nominations were selected by a jury – Leila Abdelrazaqkevin czapMita MahatoCarolyn Nowak, and Taneka Stotts – and winners will be selected by the attendees of the 2018 Small Press Expo.

WHile the nominations are evenly dispersed, it’s worth noting that relative newcomer Tommi Parish has four nominations for their The Lie and How We Told it, published by Fantagraphics. A promosing debut indeed!
