DC Comics Month-to Month Sales: February 2014—Forever Evil Slows The Pack

It’s time once again to look at DC’s sales figures.

Once again DC takes the top two slots on the Diamond sales charts. But February is a down month overall for the Diamond NA comics market, and DC follows suit. Forever Evil returns with a new issue in February, but both Sandman Overture and Superman Unchained are still MIA. When retailers tie up their order volume with large orders for comics that don’t ship, that means fewer potential sales across the board.

In a break with tradition, two living authors have been given the 2014 Bill Finger Award for Excellence in Comic Book Writing for 2014, but since the committee just couldn’t decide who are we to judge? I can’t think of a better storyteller among our contemporary cartoonists, so he seems like a great subject for a documentary. The trailer has folks like […]

Hawthorne High School Comic Convention is back on May 10th

Hawthorne High School in New Jersey has been throwing a comic con for seven years, and thanks to the help of art teacher Alan Rosenberg’s great contacts, they always have a stellar line-up of great cartoonists. This year’s show, to be held May 10th, will be a Tribute to Joe Kubert, and I’m guessing it will be one of those small intimate shows that so many folks enjoy. Guests include Walt Simonson, Herb Trimpe, Joe Staton and more.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is currently filming in Aosta, Italy which has to be tough because one bowl of pasta and it’s going to show in your spandex, but luckily, as these photos show, some of the costumes have pasta-concealing features. Elizabeth Olson said she wasn’t going to go around in a scarlet swimsuit as The Scarlet Witch and she is sure not wearing a swimsuit. Sensible shoes and everything!
