And don’t forget the Shel Dorf and Ken Krueger Tribute programs at the Con: Shel’s is on Sat, Rm. 5AB, 4:30 – 6:00 pm; Ken’s is on Fri, Rm 3 1:30 – 2:30 pm.

They’ll be chaired by original, ‘First Generation’ fellow Comics/Films/Science Fiction fans that helped, with the guidance of the two men above, create what has metatasized into the Comic-Con International: San Diego of today.

Anyone attending this year’s Con with even the slightest interest in the history of SDCC could do no better than go to these panels and listen to how SDCC came to BE.

    From tiny acorns…?

I remember Shel from 1974-75 when i lived next door in Ocean Beach. He was a nice guy, tried to help fellow stuggling artists like myself.

    funny story…

One time Shel decided to go on a diet to lose some weight. I stopped in one morning and he was pouring chocolate syrup on his cereal. Some diet. Some guy.
