Hahahaha! Though, honestly, I can’t imagine a real version of this comic to be any less than absolutely FANTASTIC.
I would buy that in a HEARTBEAT.
Is that the Bandit in the image behind them?
Anything that has Angus MacGyver, Dr. Emmett Brown and B.A. Barracus together automatically earns my disposable income. Somebody make this book happen for real!
Jack Burton alone would make me buy this.
Okay, who is the left on the left in the underwear?
Flashdance.
Now that I think about it, Flashdance sounds like a good name for an 80s villain. Probably Dazzler’s arch enemy.
Wait, that’s not Flashdance, it’s Lisa from Weird Science.
You’re right — http://th716.photobucket.com/albums/ww164/uncletogie/th_LisaWeirdScience.jpg.
SRS
Clear the correct licenses and you can publish this tomorrow. The cover and style seems more Moonstone than Top Shelf.
Universal: Back To The Future, A-Team, Weird Science
Paramount: Macgyver
Fox: Big Trouble in Little China
Kurt Russell alone would stop it. There have been many attempts to continue the adventures of the peerless Jack Burton in comics form, but Kurt Russell always shits on it. It’s like he wants to pretend that movie never existed or something. Such a shame since it’s his greatest role. (Yes, yes, even better than Snake. Sigh.)
As for the perfect villain? Well, say hello to my little friend.
Or better yet: a team-up of Tony Montana and Gordon Gekko.
Top Cow announced a BTiLC comic in 2009. Panelflow has a preview. CrankLeft just released Jack Burton Adventures #1.
Kingdom Comics could always produce Kurt Russell comics… Medfield College has five movies (Dexter Riley (Disney’s Jimmy Olsen) and Prof. Ned Brainard) They could also retcon Merlin Jones (Midvale College) into it.
haha!!!! hilarious!! :D
I’m very happy to report that I only recognize two of the characters standing in front of the portraits and then only from clips of their show or movies. The rest of this is pretty much lost on me. Why, because, basically, the Eighties sucked. (Is that mean spirited? I certainly didn’t mean it that way.)
No Buckaroo Banzai or Conner McLeod?
Fail
The idea of Tony Montana being a villain is pretty good, since Serpico is the man in the pea-coat and hat at the top of the page.
You know, the more I look at this, the better the joke is.
Call out the fanfiction – oops, I mean parody – patrol! Someone needs to get on this one, clearly it is an idea whose time has come.
It’s so weird how April Fools jokes like this are ones I’d like to actually see in real life.
also needs a John Hughes character – Ferris maybe?
Lisa is a John Hughes character, but it could probably use one of his more traditional characters. Ducky?
Yeah, why not Howard The Duck? Oh wait..
